Still groggy from a late night of "Sex and the City" marathon, we arrived at the trailhead just after 1pm, in time to be blasted by the full force of the midday sun and a typical steady coastal wind on the first exposed stretch of this 8.4 mile hike. We were partially compensated by the beautiful ocean view and colorful wild flowers. |
| Finally, we were rewarded with cool shade (almost a little too cool), and a pretty lake by which we picnicked. Afterwards, one of us went skinny dipping... |

| Onward with the hike! We followed the pretty coastal trail to lovely Alamere Falls. Scrambling down the crumbly sea cliff to the beach, we had a nice view of the falls cascading in several stages down all the way to the ocean. |
