We arrived at the Tennesee Valley trailhead in the early
afternoon and discovered it to be just as popular as our book had promised -- a good many hikers
from all age ranges and physical types could be seen walking on the flatish trail. We took a less traveled spur trail
and soon found out why it was less traveled -- it had somewhat become a little creek because of the abundant rain this
season, and we were thankful for our hiking boots, which had seemed overkill a moment ago. We arrived at a
blackish pebbly-sandy beach. It's not super exciting, but not a bad walk at all. |
