| Back home after the new year, Emily gave us a violin recital -- she has a
pretty big repertoire! |

| We had a brief excursion at the tidal pools, peering at
sea stars and anemones before heading to the climbing gym where father and daughter both tried their hands at
scaling walls. Afterwards, Emily decided that she prefered skiing to climbing. "I like climbing," she said, "but I had to
do so much work!" |
