Cat and Shanmao's blog | ||

This is shanmao's first post in a long time. I have to admit I'm not a big blog person. I read a few select blogs including zongs, fadingnotes, and occasionally belle-de-jour. Most other blogs I've visited have been either boring, devoid of content, or distasteful.
Finally I've discovered a few political and economic related blogs that, while not thrilling reading, blur the distinction between news and web socializing. News you get from an official outlet. Web socializing is surfing the web learning about the personalities of real people who are likely not paid to make postings. I suspect the problem with blogs is not actually a problem with blogs but a problem with the gray matter between my two ears. If I'm not interested in something, then my attention span is pretty low. I used to be able to drum up interest long enough to plod through the chaff in search of the wheat, however, lately I've been pressed for time and energy and have stuck with the few discussion groups I'm familar with. orkut has been an exception to this. It's a cool networking site that is experiencing performance growing pains and suffers from having too few people to provide too much in the way of interesting or meaningful discussion groups. |
