The plane flew north to Alaska then east across Bering Strait. We were treated to the frozen landscapes of Siberia. Just outside Beijing, we saw the reservoirs.

On the way back we visited San Francisco. The balmy weather in the Bay Area was quite a contrast against the cold dry air of Northern China.
